Warburg-Haus recordings and digital content
Although the house is closed to the public during the corona crisis, you can discover numerous current and recorded digital lectures and content on these pages
Due to the current corona crisis, the Warburg-Haus will remain closed to the public in accordance with the measures taken by Universität Hamburg, until further notice. We regret this and hope to welcome you back soon.
Together with lecturers and cooperation partners, we are looking for possibilities to realize digital or rescheduled alternatives to the events of the focus topic programme Arts in the Technical Age, II of the first half of the year. We cordially invite you to regularly check our website under Announcements and the calendar. There we will also announce in what form events can be held again, once it will have become clear.
In particular, we offer all friends of the Warburg-Haus on our website the opportunity to follow an online lecture on the Philosophy of Culture given by Birgit Recki, acting director 2019-2020 (in German). The lecture will be recorded weekly in the reading room of the Warburg-Haus during the summer semester and made available online as a podcast.
To reflect on culture, its conditions, possibilities and impact, as well as on the concepts we make of it and thus of human nature, seems to us to be of crucial importance in times when its development and our liberty to move freely are largely restricted.
You can discover this and many other digital content such as numerous recorded lectures from the Warburg-Haus, as well as other interesting material in our journal and in the blog of our international research project Bilderfahrzeuge. Digital offers cannot substitute our much appreciated direct exchange in lively discussions; but we hope that they will find your interest. The Warburg-Haus is not only a venue for events but also a research institution and as such continues to operate intensively after the outbreak of the corona crisis. Thus, it remains an active place of cultural studies research. We hope that we will soon be able to meet again in person at the Warburg-Haus.
